FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

+ How much does it cost?

Your first session with me is $680, which includes your initial touch-up within 3 months. Booking your appointment requires a $200 deposit and there will be 5% GST added.

+ What is microblading?

Microblading is a method of semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing that uses a manual tool instead of a machine to create very fine hair-like strokes, and builds natural-looking eyebrows one hairstroke at a time.

+ How long does it last?

This kind of tattoo is meant to fade over time and requires touch-ups every year or so to maintain the shape and colour. It's entirely up to you how often you get your tattoo refreshed, but on average most clients return for an annual touch-up. There are a lot of factors that contribute to the longevity of your tattoo. Fading of microblading is normal and expected, and one reason is that fine lines are not as long-lasting as bold lines. Another is that this method of tattooing doesn't usually penetrate quite as deep into the skin as a typical tattoo, allowing the lines to appear more crisp. Your individual skin type, body chemistry, lifestyle, and sun exposure also determine your tattoo's longevity. Proper long-term aftercare can help it to last longer, with the biggest factor being skincare!

+ Does it hurt?

Individual experiences will vary, but most people don't find it to be painful. An effective topical numbing cream is used beforehand and another fast-acting numbing gel is used all throughout the procedure to ensure your comfort.

+ How long does it take?

Each session usually takes between 2-3 hours. Brow appointments must be scheduled at least 6 weeks apart to ensure your skin has time to fully heal and for the colour to settle in.

+ Will it affect my natural eyebrow hair?

No, microblading will not have any affect on your brow hair colour or density.

+ What is included?

A touch-up within 3 months is included, as well as discounted future touch-ups. Pre-numbing is always included for brows.

+ What is the appointment like?

At your first session, we'll start by talking about your brows and going over the process before we start drawing your brows in with pencil and designing the shape. Once we are both happy with the shape and colour and we're both on the same page, I will mark precisely around the brow shape with a surgical marking pen (this is my stencil) before applying numbing cream and covering them with plastic film for 30 minutes to allow the cream to do its thing. After numbing, the tattooing process takes less than an hour. We'll go through all the same steps at a touch-up appointment, but the process is usually a little faster and streamlined.

+ How do we decide on a shape?

During your appointment we'll design your brows together by drawing them in with brow pencil and making adjustments until we're both happy with the shape. You're welcome to come to your appointment either with or without brow makeup on, and please feel free to bring pictures for eyebrow inspiration if you want to. We'll also be looking at things like your colouring, bone structure and muscle movement to help us create the most natural-looking and flattering brows that are harmonious with your other facial features.

+ I had my brows tattooed by someone else, can I get a touch-up from you?

In most cases I can work on an existing tattoo, but please don't forget to send a photo when booking or come in for a consultation first to ensure your brows are workable. If I was not the last person to tattoo your brows, the first session with me will be charged at full price. Discounted touch-up prices only apply for my existing clients that I have previously worked on.

+ Do you ever travel to tattoo ?

I don't have any plans to right now, but when/if I do I'll be sure to make an announcement.

+ Do you do powder or combo brows?

No, at this time I'm only offering microblading for brows.

+ Do you do lips or eyeliner?

I don't, but I might be able to make a recommendation!
